50 Sayings Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount

  1. Be poor in spirit.
  2. Be those who mourn.
  3. Be meek.
  4. Hunger and thirst for righteousness.
  5. Be merciful.
  6. Be pure in heart.
  7. Be peacemakers.
  8. Be those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake.
  9. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad when men revile and persecute you and say all manner of evil against you falsely for My sake.
  10. Be the salt of the earth.
  11. Be the light of the world.
  12. Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
  13. Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.

  31. When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites who love to pray standing in the synagogues to be seen by men.
  32. When you pray, go into your room, shut the door, and pray to your Father in secret.
  33. Do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.
  34. Pray like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name…”
  35. Forgive men their trespasses.
  36. When you fast, do not be like the hypocrites who disfigure their faces to show they are fasting.
  37. Lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys.
