Grace to you and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ.
I am very excited about this month’s report. As we have been experiencing for the last couple of months, the Lord is bringing us into the fullness of His purpose, plan and power for inLight Consulting. I am not so naïve to think that He is finished – and I pray this is just the beginning of His fullness – but it is such a blessing to know that we have entered into this phase of the Adventure, in His timing.
But before I go on, I have a confession to make: There is an old Rob Streetman that wants every one of you to be excited about the progress we are making as a ministry. He likes people to think good things about me and the work I am doing. He wants a lot of bullets about the things we have done; and a long list of people we have impacted. He wants you to be impressed with me.
Thank God, that one has been crucified and buried. He is no longer in control; and his influence in the Adventure has been effectively broken. It is beyond me, in this weblog, to explain the theological truth of this. Let me just say that both baptism and deliverance ministry are effectual in the life of a believer. The children of God (particularly in America) have not thought or imagined the freedom Christ has bought for us. Please contact me if you are interested in discussing this further – let’s be free, indeed.
So, what I really want you to know is that we are trusting and obeying the Lord more this month than the last; and more than we ever have in our lives. This is THE key for this ministry. As Francis Frangipane suggests in his book, The House of the Lord:
“At this point in time God is not raising up “ministries”; He is raising up bondslaves! After we recognize that the goal is not ministry but slavery, then we will begin to see the power of Christ in ministries restored to the church.”
I know some of you are asking yourselves: Bondslave and free, how does that work? Well, by faith. It’s just another way that God has shown us the “other-realmness” of His kingdom. If you have experienced it, you know it. If not, then I suggest you believe it before you try to understand it.
Well, enough of that “spiritual stuff” (I could go on for days). Let’s review some of what we have been doing in the Lord for the last thirty days. First and foremost, I am very happy to report that the website went live one week ago, today. We have been tweaking it this week; and invite you to check it out and let us know what you think. This is a significant milestone for inLight Consulting from both a practical and spiritual perspective. Practically speaking, the website’s professional appearance will encourage Marketplace Leaders that we are serious about our ministry into their communities. We can now begin reaching out more deliberately into the mission fields we have been given.
I have known since the beginning of the year that the website rollout would also mark a spiritual milestone in our development as a ministry. I have spoken to some of that previously, here and in separate weblog postings. In summary, the Lord has confirmed and affirmed our ministry model; and released us to press on in full assurance of His preceding grace, continuing wisdom and revelation, and the rear guard of His glory.
For those of you that want to know more about the progress of our outreach:
- We are continuing to update our contacts in Haralson County on this new phase of our ministry with them; and use these opportunities to invite them to take part in our transformation process. We have begun the process with one Marketplace Leader (it is going better than expected), and are waiting on others to pray about the commitment. We are seeking out and encouraging Pastors to prepare for, and participate in, our outreach. Most of you know and share our heart for the under-shepherds. They have been supportive of our ministry. Next week, I will be bringing a word of encouragement to the Ministerial Association. Lastly, the Lord is using us to network ministries in the area – particularly those targeting at risk youth.
- In Douglas County, we are continuing to develop relationships through fellowship opportunities and speaking engagements. This Saturday, I was blessed to share my testimony with the local chapter of the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International. Last, but certainly not least, we have agreed to partner with a woman that wants to reestablish her ministry to at risk families (by taking her future board through our process).
- We are continuing to develop the transformation leadership training materials.
- Our work in Gwinnett County is continuing to move in a positive direction, all in the Lord’s timing.
As you can see, we are not your normal mission organization. Our measurements of progress are more about influence, and less about numbers. Regrettably, influence is hard to report in tangible ways; but we will endeavor to give you a real feel for our progress in the Lord’s work as the ministry grows.
In closing, I would like to recognize the Lord’s continued grace in upholding this ministry’s finances. We are committed to His direction – that we offer our services free of charge. We trust the Lord to provide in accordance with 2 Corinthians 9:8. We are dependent on Him to release the abundance through ministry partners that share our vision for the Lord’s command in Matthew 5:16 and His prayer in John 17:20-23. We appreciate your prayerful consideration of our shared vision.
Crucified and risen with Him,
Rob
P.S. Last month, I recommended Bruce Wilkinson’s The Dream Giver. Destined for the Throne, by Paul Billheimer, is a great book on prayer. I strongly recommend it.
