inLight Adventure – Sharing the Father’s Focus

To the beloved, whom I love in truth:  I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers; just as you walk in the truth.

For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.  Romans 8:5

Let me ask you a few starter questions:

  1. Does God care more about the United States of America than His Son’s Bride? Which do you think He thinks about most?
  2. Why would God make something great again that has become the idol of His people? How will the average Christian respond if He does not?
  3. Will Jesus Christ – the wisest of all disciple makers; and the builder of His church – make or build on a faulty foundation? What does a solid foundation look like?

I think we can all agree that, in these days, much is hanging in the balance. Something is very wrong; and most of us have a strong sense of urgency to fix it (whatever “it” is), before something really bad happens.

Furthermore, I think many of you will agree that politics is more the problem than the solution for what ails America. Consequently, the “it” most want to fix is politics.

Please, please, please: Don’t fall for the distraction. Please!

Let me ask that first question a different way: If your children were as distracted as the church in America, would you be paying any attention to anything other than their discipline? How much of the conventions do you think our Father will be watching?

So, where are you focusing your attention? Let me tell you, your time and energy will accomplish more if you will focus it on the real problem. We are sick children.  The Father, in His love and mercy, wants to heal us. Who will become His instruments of righteousness?

If there is any hope for America, it is the church of Jesus Christ. However, the church is too distracted to make a difference. Before you object, consider the difference we have made in the last fifty years. In fact, consider how much of America’s mess we are responsible for.

I close with this suggestion: Begin with an inspection of your own spiritual foundation. If you are a leader in church, also inspect the spheres of influence where you are responsible to God.

At the very least, spend more time sharing the Father’s focus, than on the distractions of American politics. He will honor your participation.

If you are interested in shifting your focus, and need some help getting started, please let me know.

Praise and Prayer Requests

The Map Maker parable – SomeBody’s Adventure – has been translated into Farsi; and the audio production work should be soon. Please pray for the actors and producers; that they would enjoy and be encouraged in their work.

Beth’s sister, Melissa, passed on to be with the Lord.  She is happy, and the One Who paid the price for her redemption is well pleased; but those of us that remain are grieving.  Please pray that God would fill the void.

Pray for your brothers and sisters that are enduring persecution – as if chained with them.

The Lost Foundations project has begun.  Please pray for continued wisdom and the resources we need to complete the project.

Pray for Beth and me as we seek the Lord’s desires for the next season of our adventure together.
