Those of us that believe in the God of the Bible know that man was created in His image. Hard to imagine sometimes – given all the destruction we are capable of – but it is true.
So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Genesis 1:27
Consider two things about God – and His image in man – that relate directly to the workplace. First, God is a creative being. We can see this image of Him in the inventions of this age. Through His greatest creation (i.e., mankind), God continues to create many incredible things; for all good things come from the Father of glory.
Secondly, God is a problem solver. He solved the problem of chaos in His creation (Genesis 1:1-2). The problem of man’s rebellion – the loss of His reign, intimacy and habitation with us – is being solved through His work in the Earth today. We see its fulfillment at the end of the story.
And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.” Revelation 21:3
One of the greatest assets an employee or business can bring to the table is the ability to solve problems in a creative way. It is a rare gift that sets people and organizations apart from the rest. Frankly, it should not be so rare – particularly for Christians in the workplace.
Workplace Ministry Tip:
Reckon yourself as you are: The offspring and apprentice of The Creative Problem Solver. Look expectantly for the problems that He will use you to solve. Let your light so shine before men, that when they see your good work, they will glorify your Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16).
Humbly yours and forever His,
