Mankind was not created to live from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil – from reasoning with our minds about the right and wrong of things. Those determinations belong to God. Importantly, our doctrines are kept and considered in the mind, and operating from our minds is a particularly tricky thing in the Age of Enlightenment and Reason. Yes, doctrines can tell us what we should believe, but they are not faith, nor are they the spiritual organ of faith.
